Now that we already know the top three candy stores in Chicago let us discover why do we have sugar cravings? Here are the some of the reasons why do we crave for sweets.

You didn’t eat enough, or you ate the wrong things.

If we don’t eat enough calories, our body will start to look for energy source faster to catch up. This develops to sugar cravings, for sugar is known to be one of the quick source of energy. One way that we usually do to get away from this dilemma is to eat something sweet with artificial sweetener in it which is wrong. Artificial sweetener will satisfy your craving for just a short period of time it will trick your body it will make you feel that you already fueled your body but it’s not  and your body will soon look for more calories in the form of sugar, and you are right back where you started.

You ate too much starch and not enough fat and or protein.

Eating heavy, starchy meal, like a giant bowl of spaghetti, you’re more likely to crave for an ice cream. All that pasta with no fiber or protein (and depending upon the sauce, perhaps not enough fat, either) is like a big bowl of sugar. Those calories are absorbed fast and they do not keep you feeling full or satisfied. In other words, that big bowl of sugar doesn’t provide satiety like protein or fat does.

You chowed down on salty foods.

When eating outside, or eating packaged, processed foods, and foods that has a lot of sodium in it. Even you eat healthy foods after there’s still more sodium remains in your body. The fact is the saltier the food the more it gets you to crave for sweets. You should be aware that this may happen to you. Then, the more you skip the chips or fries, the less you’ll want the sweets.
